YWCA Victoria is a vibrant statewide community organisation committed to the equality and opportunity of women, especially young women.
We provide marginalised women with basic services like housing, childcare, employment and training and we also run Arts, sports and mentoring programs that meet the emotional, physical and creative needs of women. The YWCA has been improving the opportunities and lifeskills of Victorian women since 1882.
Membership and volunteering is central to YWCA Victoria. We are a community that encourages leadership and self reliance, while building self-esteem, mutual respect, compassion and understanding - 'women helping women' build stronger communities.
Our programs are supported by many dedicated volunteers, corporate and government funding, membership contributions, individual donations, bequests and our commercial enterprises.
The YWCA listens to its members, develops social policy and speaks out publicly on issues that affect women. We are the leading advocate for young women in Victoria.
YWCA Victoria is a non-religious organisation that encourages the participation of women of all cultures.
