YWCA Victoria announces appointment of new CEO - Jo Watson
YWCA Victoria announced the appointment of new Chief Executive Officer Jo Watson today.
President of YWCA Victoria, Rose Bryant-Smith said “We are delighted to announce the appointment of Jo Watson as the CEO of YWCA Victoria and look forward to working with her to deliver key strategic outcomes for the organisation in the next exciting phase for Y in Victoria. Jo brings significant skills and expertise to the organisation that will see YWCA Victoria thrive under her leadership”.
Jo Watson is a leader with a passion for social issues and the empowerment of women. She believes that the successful delivery of initiatives starts with the key stakeholders having a shared vision, and continues with effective engagement and dialogue.
Jo joins YWCA Victoria after twelve years at World Vision Australia, where she held a range of senior leadership roles which included: strategic change; advocacy operations; advocacy campaigns; marketing; state offices management and communications.
Prior to joining World Vision, Jo held the position of Group Manager of Direct Marketing at Telstra. Jo has extensive experience in fundraising and operational management over a career that has seen her perform in both commercial and corporate environments.
Jo says “I’m thrilled to be joining YWCA Victoria with its incredibly proud heritage providing services and advocating for women. I look forward to working with the Board, staff and members on an ambitious agenda to drive equality for women”.
