Equal Pay for Community Workers!
11 Nov 2011YWCA's across Australia welcome the historic announcement by Prime Minister Julia Gillard and the Australian Services Union that they will submit a joint submission to Fair Work Australia arguing for fair and equal rates of pay that value the caring work of the community sector. Women comprise around 87% of the community sector workforce.

It’s About Choice
9 Sep 2011In October 2008, the Victorian Parliament passed legislation to remove abortion from the Crimes Act. Produced in 2010, “It’s About Choice” documents the campaign to achieve this reform. Providing valuable insight to the campaign, the documentary includes interviews with politicians, health experts, and women’s health advocates.

25 Jul 2011In 2011 YWCA Victoria participated in the Young Women's Workplace Rights Project Reference Group with the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission. The outcomes of this project are an online resource to inform young women about their rights in the workplace and what they can do if they experience sexual harassment or discrimination.
