Richmond House Furniture Campaign
Please show your support for homeless women by donating to the Richmond House furniture campaign.
By donating to the Richmond House furniture campaign, you will help ensure that the property will continue to provide more than just a temporary shelter for homeless women; instead it will be somewhere they can call home.
YWCA Victoria is improving the lives of women by ending inequality. We understand that without the right to housing, many other basic rights are unobtainable. Addressing inequality in the lives of women starts with providing them with safe and affordable housing.
Richmond House is a 67 room rooming house which was built by YWCA Victoria in 1973. Over the years, it has been home to a diverse community of women who, through having a stable place to live, have had the opportunity to move forward in their lives. After 40 years, Richmond House is being redeveloped with the support of the Department of Human Services – Housing Sector Development, Housing & Community Building Division. But this does not include funding for furniture so...
…we need your support. An empty house is not a home. An empty house does not create a safe, comfortable place for women to live.
