FlyGirl

FlyGirl is a primary prevention program for girls and young women combining education based activities and circus training focusing on developing positive self esteem, confidence and resilience.

FlyGirl programs are knowledge-based and active, and develop the participants understanding of positive peer relationships, respectful relationships, positive body image and violence against women.

Program sessions are designed and adapted in consultation with the community for each new group of girls. This program can be delivered in a school or community setting

Programs are run during the school term in school hours for the length of the term.  Programs can be delivered both in schools and at external venues.

Term 4 Mother Daughter Fly Girl starting soon!

Mother Daughter Fly Girl is a program of fun physical activities that 11-14 year old girls and their mothers (or another significant woman in their lives) can enjoy together. Circus workshops alternate with group discussions that focus on developing self-esteem, self-confidence, a healthy body image and positive peer relationships.

The program will help you develop your coordination, strength and flexibility in a safe and non-threatening environment and help you connect with your daughter around issues that are important to her happiness and wellbeing.

Mother Daughter Fly Girl will take place over 9 consecutive Sundays from 14 October 2012 to 09 December 2012 at Westside Circus, 2/29 Cameron Street, Brunswick.  The cost per mother/daughter couple is $599.

The Mother Daughter Fly Girl program is a partnership between YWCA Victoria and Westside Circus and is supported by the City of Moreland Community Grants Program.
