YWCA Victoria is committed to providing affordable, safe and appropriate housing.  The organisation is one of the largest medium to long term housing providers for women in Victoria, offering over 100,000 nights of shelter to Victorians through both owned properties, and leased properties in partnership with the Department of Human Services (Office of Housing).

YWCA Victoria provides rooming house accommodation in the following suburbs:
Carlton, Coburg, Dandenong, Nobel Park, Parkdale, Richmond, and West Melbourne - Female only
Brunswick, West Melbourne - Male only
Footscray – Both female and male

In rooming houses, residents are provided with a secure furnished room and shared common facilities. This type of accommodation is not suitable for children and the YWCA Victoria does not have provision for couples within this model of housing.

All residential properties are governed by the provisions of the Residential Tenancy Act 1997 and accommodate men and women over the age of 18 years who met the Office of Housing Eligibility criteria. Rents are based on the 25% or 30% income formula plus a utilities cost.
