Y Rowing Centre

The Y Rowing Centre on Melbourne's beautiful Albert Park Lake, provides an opportunity for people of all ages (from teens through to adults) to learn and enjoy rowing in a safe and friendly atmosphere and at an affordable price.  The Y Rowing Centre was established in 1910 by YWCA members, the club continues to be run entirely by volunteers.

Contrary to popular opinion you don't need to be exceptionally strong, or fit, to learn to row. That's why so many people are taking up the sport and thoroughly enjoying themselves while getting fit along the way.

Crew rowing is an impact-free sport that gives you a complete exercise package. The smooth and rhythmic motion of rowing exercises all the muscle groups in the arms, legs, back, abdomen and buttocks. It provides aerobic and strength conditioning and helps with weight-loss.

All you need is a thick pair of socks, t-shirt, bike shorts or track pants and a warm top during the winter. The Y Rowing Centre will provide the rest including new Olympic-style rowing shells and expert tuition.
