Call for applications to join YWCA Housing Development Committee
Through YWCA Victoria's subsidiary company, YWCA Housing, an exciting opportunity has arisen for candidates with housing development expertise and who are aligned with the YWCA Victoria’s values.
YWCA Housing are currently targeting emerging challenges in housing including development of small scale infill- and medium-density housing within Melbourne and regional areas.
The Development Committee will maintain an overview of YWCA Housing’s strategic development of capital works including pursuing cross subsidies from commercial development activity to grow affordable housing stock. The Development Committee will have a ‘hands-on’ role that includes:
- investigating and evaluating opportunities for site acquisition;
- design and development;
- monitoring the procurement process;
- development sales;
- promotional activity; and,
The Development Committee will provide effective and timely responses and reports to the YWCA Housing Board of Directors. The Development Committee will meet on a monthly and as-needs basis.
In line with our vision and values, YWCA Housing will ensure significant participation of women in the housing and development sector and procurement models will favour proposals that are gender responsive.
YWCA Housing values and supports young women's leadership and encourages applications from young women (aged 30 and under) and first time board applicants.
Applications are sought from interested persons with relevant experience to fulfil the requirement for inaugural Committee membership.
