Members of the YWCA Victoria are active in YWCA community activities, social policy, campaigning, advocacy, networking, social groups, sporting clubs and volunteering. There are even members active on-line.

Membership has been a vital part of YWCA Victoria, back to its very beginnings on 21 November 1882, when 15 women formed YWCA Melbourne. YWCA membership is a commitment to the equality of women. See YWCA history.

Membership Benefits

YWCA members attend the annual general meeting and elect the board of directors. All directors must be YWCA members.

10% discount at YWCA and YMCA hotels and hostels in Australia and overseas.

Membership Costs

YWCA has an annual membership, renewable on World YWCA Day, 24 April each year. Women and men are welcome to become members. Women only are eligible to vote on policy and direction of the Association.

The costs of membership are as follows:

• $35 for full membership
• $5 concession membership (available to health care card holders, students, pensioners and seniors)
• $50 for associate member (organisations)
• $120 for corporate membership
