Today, the Victorian Government announced a new Affordable Housing Strategy which includes a fund to assist the growth of community housing, a move that has been welcomed by YWCA Housing and YWCA Victoria
It's back! We're bringing YWCA's annual rock and roll fundraiser and International Women's Day party back to the Tote for a two day rager on March 4 and 5, with photobooth, markets and much more. A celebration and showcase of the talents of women, GNB people and femmes and a chance for us to just have a great party!
It wasn't just the Women's March that made the news this month!
Our Historical Programs Coordinator, Jennifer, writes "Although the YWCA have been primarily concerned with making a difference in the lives of women, a necessary complement to that goal is fundraising. One of the most popular forms of fundraising until the latter half of the twentieth century (when the form dropped off quite quickly in popularity) was the Pageant. Not of the beauty variety, these pageants featured YWCA members in elaborate costumes who would perform historical scenes of interest to the community."
One of our friends saw some articles regarding changes to the way we *PAP* in 2017. If the changes to your cervix inspections have you vexed, take Dr Kim Pham's hand and she'll guide you through it!
Rack Off! YWCA Victoria’s annual music festival returns to the Tote for a two day spectacular on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th of March.
Meet our Member of the Month for January, passionate feminist, comms whiz and sex education activist, Casey!
