We Want YOU To Represent Us at The United Nations!
The UN Commission on the Status of Women is the global policy body for women’s issues. Representatives of government meet together annually in New York to discuss how to improve the status of women, watched on by a large contingent of NGO activists. The CSW has supported the development of the Convention on the Elimination of all forms of
Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) and its Optional Protocol, and the development of the 1995 Beijing Platform for Action.
It all goes down on Monday 13 March to Friday 24th March, and the theme is "women’s economic empowerment in the changing world of work”.
The Commission will also evaluate progress in the implementation of the agreed conclusions from its fifty-eighth session in 2014 on “Challenges and achievements in the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals for women and girls”.
